HAPPY HEART MAGIC & MORE
Who is this guy?
Mike King has been entertaining audiences since 1986. After college he and his wife, Jane, settled in Marietta where they have raised two wonderful daughters.
Mike caught the magic bug while watching a Christian performer. Now as a member and officer in the Fellowship of Christian Magicians he has been a regular at many area churches. Mike has lectured at regional magic conventions and has had his routines published in both secular and Christian publications.
He is a long time member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians . He is a certified lay speaker and has spoken at many area churches. With a Master’s Degree in education and thirty three years of elementary experience he is definitely “kid friendly”. He has served as both a football and basketball official in numerous youth leagues. Mike specializes in laugh-filled family magic for all occasions. His “Air Head” balloon creations can change any event into a sea of waving color with a smile beneath each hat.
Perhaps you have seen Mike at:
The Washington County Fair
The Honey Festival
The Sternwheel Festival

--or anywhere a smile is needed
Mike is a family entertainer who uses magic and fun to educate and inspire. Your happiness and confidence are his prime goals.
WHY SHOULD WE HAVE A MAGICIAN IN OUR CHURCH?
Easy! To tell the story of Christ’s love. Music and crafts are good ways to teach, so is magic. I also believe Christians should have great amounts of fun, it’s part of our “life more abundantly” promise.
IS THIS JUST FOR KIDS?
Not at all. I have done programs for children, teens, adults and senior citizens and enjoyed them all. I especially hope that families can discuss what they have seen and heard and come to a deeper understanding of God’s love.
HOW MUCH IS THIS GOING TO COST?
I have never charged for a Christian program. It is an honor and a joy for me to be used in this fun ministry. I do accept honorariums or love offerings. The gifts enable me to present new effects and to travel to out of the way places. I appreciate your financial help, but my goal is to bring people into a more joyful relationship with our Lord.
IS THIS PREACHING OR FUN?
A little of both. I have filled pulpits for years and fully realize that the message is key. As an experienced elementary teacher I know that learning is most effective when wrapped in fun. Fun magic is the vehicle, Christ is the message.
WHAT IS A SHORTCOMING OF YOUR PROGRAM?
Follow up. My program is more like a flare than a warm fireplace. It is a fun review of how much God loves His people, but sheep need constant feeding.
WHAT IS YOUR THEOLOGY?
I am a sinner who understands that God loves me much more than I deserve. In the short time that I have with a group I avoid hot button issues and focus on the basics of God’s love. As a guest in your church I am respectful of the work that has gone on to bring your people closer to Jesus. I believe that a person either needs Jesus or needs more Jesus.
WHEN IS A GOOD TIME FOR A PROGRAM?
Dinners, VBS, seasonal parties, Sunday school, camps, Mother’s and Father’s Day celebrations, an unique Sunday morning service and “whenever”.
IS IT ALWAYS THE SAME?
Not at all. I do a different program every year with no repeats for at least five years. Each program is tailored to the age and spiritual depth of the audience. I am often able to include effects to emphasize what you have been teaching. My purpose is to help you.
